UK Broadband is able to offer a cost effective, customised, mobile wireless service across entire cities or regions. By using our licensed spectrum we can offer coverage and throughput service level guarantees which assure minimum data rates (e.g. for CCTV) and defined areas of operation. The wireless network is based on a new 4th generation WiMAX technology standard which has been specifically designed for mobile broadband applications and is widely deployed and supported across the globe.

A WiMAX network can be engineered to provide fast mobile broadband connectivity to a vehicle or device which can support mobile or portable CCTV applications. Real-time remote access to central systems can enable the vehicle, or the operative, to become a data connection hub at incidents.

Network resilience and security are highly customisable during network design depending on individual project requirements. WiMAX has air-interface encryption capability built-in and can support further levels of encryption if required whilst data traffic prioritisation means we can ensure only the most essential communications receive bandwidth in the event of a major incident or event.
